Our Three Predictions for Queens Park Rangers vs Leeds United

  • First Prediction: Leeds United to win – 1/2
  • Second Prediction: Over 2.5 goals to be scored – 9/10
  • Third Prediction: Joel Piroe to score at any time – 29/20

First Prediction for Queens Park Rangers vs Leeds United – Leeds United to win – 1/2

Although this prediction may seem self-explanatory, Leeds United need to keep winning if they want to lift that trophy at the end of the season. After dropping points against both West Bromwich Albion and Portsmouth, they sit just two points clear at the top of the table and four points off the play-offs, but there is still a lot of football left to be played before they can start celebrating. Fortunately for Daniel Farke’s side, second-placed Sheffield United have also dropped crucial points recently, otherwise the West Yorkshire outfit would not be two points clear at the top of the league. Their opponents, Queens Park Rangers, have lost their last four Championship games, and have only won one game in their previous five. On top of this, the away side have the third-best away record in the division. It would be considered a shock if QPR were to walk away from this game with any points, as Leeds will look to take another step closer towards the Championship title.

Second Prediction for Queens Park Rangers vs Leeds United – Over 2.5 goals to be scored – 9/10

As expected by a side who sit at the top of the tree, they are also top of the scoring chart in the second-tier, scoring a considerable 15 goals more than any other side in the division. Although the hosts don’t have an awful defensive record, conceding 48 goals, Leeds’ goalscoring record certainly outshines QPR’s, as they have scored 42 goals in 37 games. On average, Marti Cifuentes’ side averages 1.14 goals scored per game, whilst United average 2. Defensively, QPR concede an average of 1.30 goals, whilst Leeds’ record sits at 0.62. Farke’s men have only failed to score in six Championship matches all season and don’t look like adding to that record anytime soon. They have also scored two goals or more in one match a whopping 24 times. Whilst QPR’s defensive record, again, isn’t awful, the firepower Leeds have up front may cause problems.

Third Prediction for Queens Park Rangers vs Leeds United – Joel Piroe to score at any time – 29/20

Leeds’ Dutch star, Joel Piroe, has been in sensational form this season, netting 15 goals and providing six assists. The 25-year-old has already surpassed his goal tally from last season, where he scored 14, and is currently the second-highest scorer in the Championship, just one goal behind Norwich City’s Borja Sainz. Although his recent form has dipped, with only two goals in his last six matches, Piroe’s undeniable talent means he’ll be eager to add to his tally and continue helping his team in their pursuit of promotion.

Full Preview of the Game – Last Results and Head-To-Head

As mentioned above, league-leaders Leeds come into this game on good form, despite dropping four crucial points in their last three matches. Still, the away side have won the majority of their last five matches, winning three, including one midweek against Millwall. The hosts, on the other hand, come into this game in completely different form, losing four of their last five and not winning in just over a month.

With how close the Championship has been points-wise this season, three points would mean a lot for both sides. For Cifuentes and his side, they’d further push themselves away from the tight relegation battle, which they are only seven points away from. Leeds would make sure they keep their place at the top of the league with all three points.

Since 2010, these sides have met each other 18 times, mostly of which have come in the Championship. Leeds have the majority of wins, with eight, but only just, with QPR only one behind, winning seven. The other three have ended level after 90 minutes.
