Our Three Predictions for Burnley vs West Bromwich Albion

  • First Prediction: Burnley to win – 9/10
  • Second Prediction: Under 2.5 goals to be scored – 11/25
  • Third Prediction: Josh Brownhill to score at any time – 67/20

First Prediction for Burnley vs West Bromwich Albion – Burnley to win – 9/10

For the hosts to keep putting pressure on second-placed Sheffield United, they must win this game. Burnley currently sit just two points off the Blades, meaning a slip-up from either team could be crucial in terms of the race for automatic promotion. Despite being third, the Clarets have only lost two games this season, but have drawn 14 times in the Championship. West Brom, on the other hand, have suffered a wobble in recent times, only winning two of their last five games. Burnley are unbeaten since early November, meaning they are unbeaten in the league in 2025, and Scott Parker will be looking to continue that streak and claim all three points against a promotion rival.

Second Prediction for Burnley vs West Bromwich Albion – Under 2.5 goals to be scored – 11/25

Burnley conceded their first league goal of 2025 just over a week ago, and have still got an outstanding record in terms of their defensive numbers. They have by far the best defensive record in the league, only conceding 10 goals in 36 games, which is 12 goals less than league-leaders Leeds United. On average per game, Parker’s side concede 0.28 goals. Their opponents don’t tend to concede loads of goals either, with the Baggies conceding 32 goals in the same amount of games, holding an average of 0.89 goals conceded per game. In terms of goals scored, both sides have proved that they can score, Burnley scoring 49 goals this season, whilst Tony Mowbray’s side have scored just three less with 46, which is actually the worst record in the top six. This means both sides average above a goal per match. However, with Burnley’s record-breaking defensive record, it would be surprising to see James Trafford not keep another clean sheet, alongside the game having more than 2.5 goals in it.

Third Prediction for Burnley vs West Bromwich Albion – Josh Brownhill to score at any time – 67/20

The Clarets have struggled in the absence of an out-and-out goal scorer this season, but when fit, midfielder Josh Brownhill has stepped in and contributed 12 league goals. This is five more than anybody else at the club, with the 29-year-old also sitting top of the charts for goals and assists, with a combined total of 16. In his last five games, only three of which he has started, he has scored three goals, and has helped his side finally pick up some wins after drawing a couple. There’s no doubt Brownhill will look to help his team further and add to his tally on Tuesday evening.

Full Preview of the Game – Last Results and Head-To-Head

As mentioned above, Burnley go into this game unbeaten in their last five league games, winning four of these five. However, West Brom seem to be clinging onto the last play-off place, with the side winning two, drawing two and losing once in their last five matches.

Three points would be crucial for either side, as Burnley could once again increase the pressure on second-placed Sheffield United, whilst the Baggies could further cement a play-off place and potentially climb up a place to fifth, depending on other results from around the grounds.

Since 2011, these sides have met 11 times in both the Premier League and Championship, with nine of these 11 ties coming in the top-tier of English football. The majority of the ties have ended level, with Mowbray’s side picking up three wins and Burnley picking up two.
