- 3rd Prediction: AFC Wimbledon to win with a >2 goal margin 13/2
1st Prediction For Morecambe FC vs AFC Wimbledon: AFC Wimbledon to win 17/20
AFC Wimbledon head into Tuesday night’s game as the overwhelming favourites which means that, even though it is not the most fruitful prediction, it is almost impossible to predict anything other than an away win on Tuesday evening. Morecambe have lost four of their last five league matches, their only win came against fellow relegation contenders Accrington Stanley, which puts them in 22nd place in the form guide in addition to being in 23rd place in the outright table. Wimbledon, by contrast, have picked up eight points from their last five league games despite not being at their very best. They also sit in fifth place overall, in the midst of a battle for automatic promotion. Additionally, Morecambe’s form at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium is very poor. They have picked up just three wins and less than half of their overall points at home this season, which should offer further encouragement to Johnnie Jackson’s men.
2nd Prediction For Morecambe FC vs AFC Wimbledon: Morecambe FC to score: no 5/4
Wimbledon’s defence has been nothing short of sensational this season and, if it was not for the once in a lifetime success of Burnley’s defence in the Championship, it would be potentially spoken about as the best in the country. This stern defence, combined with the fact that Morecambe have a largely toothless attack, makes it hard to see anything other than the Wombles keeping their 18th league clean sheet of the season. The London-based side have conceded just 0.7 goals per game this campaign, by far the best record in the fourth tier. This is in no part down to luck as they have also conceded the least xG of any team in League Two. Furthermore, Derek Adams’ men have created the fourth-least xG and missed the ninth-most chances of any League Two team, suggesting that they are neither very creative nor very clinical. It seems almost certain that the Morecambe attack, which struggles to break down teams with a much worse defensive record, will fire a blank on Tuesday evening.
3rd Prediction For Morecambe FC vs AFC Wimbledon: AFC Wimbledon to win with a >2 goal margin 13/2
Those looking for a riskier prediction should consider AFC Wimbledon winning by a margin of more than two goals as, even though they have not been in the best goalscoring form of late, it offers an extremely fruitful return. The Wombles’ attack is reasonably good as hey have scored the ninth-most goals per match and created the seventh-most xG in League Two, but their main threat is striker Matthew Stevens. The Barnet academy graduate is the joint-top goalscorer in League Two and has proven himself as an excellent striker at the level over the past few seasons. Stevens currently has a phenomenal 16 goals in 33 league games and 20 goals in 41 games in all competitions, making it the second most prolific season of his career to date. The 27-year-old has not scored in his last three games, all of which Wimbledon failed to win, and he will be eager to get back on the scoresheet come Tuesday night. This could be a scary prospect for the Morecambe defence, especially given that Stevens already has a hat-trick against the other team in the relegation zone, Carlisle United.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head
Derek Adams’ Morecambe side come into Tuesday’s game in the middle of a tough run which has seen them win just three league games in 2025. This has meant that they have dropped to 23rd place in League Two, three points away from safety, but with a couple of teams around them having games in hand. The Shrimps will be desperate to pick up just their fourth home league win of the season on Tuesday night to move themselves out of the relegation zone.
AFC Wimbledon currently occupy fifth place as they have accumulated 57 points from 33 games. Although they have been in slightly mixed form of late, the Wombles are still very much in the hunt for automatic promotion as they are just four points off Doncaster United in third place. Johnnie Jackson will see Tuesday’s fixture against an out of form side who are also in the relegation zone as the perfect opportunity for Wimbledon to pick up their first win in four games and put some pressure on the teams above them.
