Key Leeds United Transfer Decision Revealed

Everton have decided not to sign Leeds United winger Jack Harrison on a permanent deal at the end of his current loan spell, according to Football Insider.

The 28-year-old is currently in his second season at Goodison Park. He initially joined the Toffees on a season-long loan deal in the summer of 2023 following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship. This came just a matter of months after penning a new five-year deal at Elland Road.

He helped Everton retain their Premier League status, leading to a second temporary deal last summer. The former Middlesbrough loanee has had to make do with a switch to the left-hand side of the midfield since the return of David Moyes. The 61-year-old has managed to oversee a dramatic upturn in form since rejoining the club in January, although has often deployed Jesper Lindstrom in Harrison’s favoured position on the right.

Everton Make Decision On Harrison Future

Although Harrison has started the last four games for Everton, it is claimed that Moyes would like to go in a different direction this summer. This will see his two-year stay in the North West come to end, leading to a return to Daniel Farke’s team.

Leeds look well on course to return to the top tier after a two-year absence. The winger played a key role in their last promotion during the 2019/20 season during the second of his three separate loan spells at the Whites. He eventually signed on a permanent basis in 2021, signing for a fee believed to be £11 million from Manchester City.

Overall, the ex-England under-21 international has made 206 appearances for Leeds, scoring 34 times whilst pitching in with 32 assists. His time at Everton has been less fruitful. He has scored four times thus far, although is yet to achieve any goal contributions across his 27 outings in all competitions this season.

This could be a tricky scenario this summer. Leeds have moved on since sanctioning his exit in 2023 and although he is technically still the club’s asset, they could be keen to cash in upon his return. That said, Harrison is a player who now has several years of Premier League experience under his belt and is in the peak years of his career. With Daniel Farke’s team edging closer to a return to the top tier, he could be as good as a new signing should they decide to reimplement him into the squad.
