Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:
Leyton Orient go into this game on the back of a confidence boosting win against Mansfield Town on Tuesday night, with Orient running out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Jordan Brown, Randell Williams and Ethan Galbraith. Richie Wellens’s men have won 10 of their last 12 outings and have suffered defeat just once in 13 League One matches, a run that has put them in with a chance of making the playoffs.
Prior to the Mansfield encounter, Orient tasted defeat for the first time since November when they were on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline at home to Stockport County. A run of seven wins in eight preceding Stockport had lifted the club into playoff contention and earned Wellens the manager of the month award for January.
Orient currently find themselves 7th in League One and just two points behind Huddersfield Town who occupy the final playoff spot. The O’s have amassed 47 points from 29 league matches thanks to 14 wins and five draws so far this campaign. On loan Queens Park Rangers forward Charlie Kelman is the club’s top scorer so far t his season with eight league goals and 12 in all competitions while another loanee Jamie Donley, from Tottenham Hotspur, leads the assist chart with five.
Lincoln City head south without a win in three and on the back of successive draws away to Wigan Athletic and at home to Cambridge United. The Imps were beaten at home by Blackpool prior to their point at Wigan but did win heavily at home against Peterborough United having beaten Northampton Town away from home a week earlier. Those two victories are part of just three the club have managed in 10 matches since December 21st.
City are currently 12th in League One with an even split of result from their 30 matches. Remarkably, Skubala’s side have won 10, drawn 10 and lost 10 in League One action this season, giving them a haul of 40 points and leaving them nine behind the playoffs.
On loan Sheffield Wednesday man Bailey Cadamateri shares the top of the scoring chart with Ben House with both players having netted five times this season. Tendayi Darikwa, Tom Bayliss and Jovon Makama have all chipped in with three assists each this term.
Lincoln City have won the last three meetings between these sides and all by the odd goal. The clash between them earlier this season saw the Imps run out 2-1 victors at the LNER Stadium thanks to goals from Jovon Makama and Freddie Draper before Dan Agyei pulled a consolation back for the visitors with 10 minutes left to play.
The same fixture last season also saw the Lincoln academy product Makama get on the scoesheet but this time in dramatic fashion with a 90th minute winner as the Imps looked to claw themselves closer to the playoff spots. City also won the fixture at Leyton Orient by a goal to nil thanks to an 89th minute Ethan Hamilton strike.
