- First Prediction For Crewe Alexandra vs AFC Wimbledon: Match Result – Draw – 2/1
- Second Prediction For Crewe Alexandra vs AFC Wimbledon: Under 2.5 Goals – 27/50
- Third Prediction For Crewe Alexandra vs AFC Wimbledon: Both Teams To Score – Yes – 81/100
First Prediction For Crewe Alexandra vs AFC Wimbledon: Match Result – Draw – 2/1
These two promotion chasers are separated by just two points ahead of this clash under the lights, giving an indication that a close battle should be expected. Up until the weekend, both were on similar unbeaten runs too. The Alex were unbeaten in five prior to their defeat against Accrington, meaning they will be gunning for revenge against the Wombles on Tuesday. Wimbledon have played less frequently than their opponents since the festive period, but are now unbeaten in five encounters themselves following their weekend stalemate at MK Dons. With two games in hand on Crewe, the Wombles will be confident of getting a result but they have experienced less joy on their travels compared with at the Cherry Red Records Stadium. As the table suggests, expect an extremely close game that should see both relatively happy with a point.
Second Prediction For Crewe Alexandra vs AFC Wimbledon: Under 2.5 Goals – 27/50
Crewe rank fifth in the division this term for home goals, managing twenty from thirteen encounters at Gresty Road. Not since August have they failed to score in consecutive league games, and prior to the Accrington defeat at the weekend the Alex had scored seven times in their previous two games on home turf. It has been tougher going for the Dons though away from home. Only six sides in the fourth tier have scored fewer goals on their travels, averaging just over a goal a game from their twelve away outings. But they have shown a slight upturn across the last two months, hitting a combined five goals in wins at Harrogate and Newport. Expect a relatively low-scoring encounter between these two.
Third Prediction For Crewe Alexandra vs AFC Wimbledon: Both Teams To Score – Yes – 81/100
Both these sides had scoreless Saturday’s, but over the course of the campaign they tend to appear on the scoresheet consistently. Wimbledon may have been held by bitter foes MK Dons, but had score in each of their last four prior to their trip to Stadium MK. For the Alex though, that was the second time in three outings that they failed to score, with only a solitary Chris Long goal shared between them and their opponents during that spell. Barring a Friday night goalless draw against Colchester before Christmas, Crewe had last failed to score during their first three games of the campaign. That gives them a record of only three games in their past 24 where they have failed to find the back of the net, so expect both teams to score on Tuesday evening.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:
The Railwaymen are looking for an instant response after Accrington Stanley ended their four-game unbeaten run on Saturday. While the Alex maintained second spot despite the result, it does mean their gap inside the top three is incredibly marginal, standing at just a point. In fact, their gap to seventh place Bradford City is now just two points, with the Bantams’ victory over Walsall meaning Crewe remain twelve points adrift of the runaway leaders.
That defeat against Stanley on Saturday was just their fifth loss of the campaign, with their festive loss against Cheltenham being the first time they had tasted defeat since losing to Newport at the end of September. After losing against the Robins, Crewe were held at MK Dons before recording consecutive victories over Carlisle and Bromley, scoring seven times. Swindon ended that scoring streak over a fortnight ago with a stalemate.
AFC Wimbledon meanwhile extended their unbeaten run to five games but were forced to settle for a point against bitter rivals MK Dons. In a game of only three shots on target, it was perhaps no surprise to see a goalless encounter. The Dons though had won their past three beforehand, defeating Tranmere, Newport and Gillingham.
A defeat against Chesterfield just before Christmas was the only blot on the Wombles league copybook since losing to Walsall in November. Cup defeats were soon forgotten as Wimbledon continue their quest to break into the top three places in League Two. Currently on a run of one defeat in ten, they sit on the cusp of the automatic promotion spots in the fourth tier with two games in hand on three of the four sides above them in touching distance. Two is also the points gap to their opponents on Tuesday evening.
This is the first meeting between the sides this campaign, as a result of the pitch troubles Wimbledon faced earlier in the season. That game, scheduled for the 1st of October, is now set for two weeks away. A draw has been a popular outcome in these games, which each of the last four ending level and 60% of the meetings since first playing in 2011. Crewe have three wins to AFC Wimbledon’s one.
