Our 3 predictions for Wrexham vs Birmingham City

- 2nd prediction: Under 2.5 goals in the match
- 3rd prediction: Both teams to score – No
1st prediction for Wrexham vs Birmingham City: Birmingham City to win or draw – 6/25
This game is a really tough one to call given how well both sides have played this season and the context of the game with the positions they are in. Birmingham had a little blip a couple of months back but are back at full force now, regularly blowing teams away, though this one won’t be quite as straightforward. Wrexham are looking for an unprecedented third promotion on the bounce and are going well to that end, though two recent defeats have derailed them. With the sheer quality Birmingham have at their disposal it’s hard to bet against them getting a result in any game, despite Wrexham’s ability. This will be a key game in the title race, and it’s v
2nd prediction for Wrexham vs Birmingham City: Under 2.5 goals in the game – 57/100
While these are two of the best sides in the league, all signs point to this being a close and cagey game with not much on the goal front. The two teams have the best defences in the league and have both conceded less than a goal a game, which has been the bedrock of their success rather than their attack. Further to this, Wrexham have been fantastic at home and are incredible to watch from a defensive point of view, being almost impossible to break down. It’s likely they’ll play similarly against strong opposition in Birmingham, with this likely the best strategy to avoid shipping several. This game will likely be decided by the odd goal because of this, with either Wrexham scoring on the counter or Birmingham somehow breaking them down.
3rd prediction for Wrexham vs Birmingham City: Both teams to score – No – 19/25
This prediction is pretty much an extension of the previous one. While the two teams have an abundance of attacking talent, it’s their defences that really set them apart. This is likely to be a tense and bad-tempered affair if the last meeting is anything to go by, resembling more of a chess match than a football game. It may not be the most free-flowing and attacking game but it will be a fascinating encounter which will certainly be close. The only way the game may go against this prediction is if both sides spring a surprise and attack from the off rather than utilise their defences. An early goal would force a more open match with neither side willing to lose ground in the promotion chase. That being said, a cagey affair is likely.

Full preview of the game: last results and head to head
This is an incredibly exciting game, with two of the league’s best and most marketable teams facing off looking for the ultimate prize of promotion. They are however, in different runs of form coming into it. Home team Wrexham have been inconsistent lately with two losses in their last three, though both were away. Their home form is much more solid, which will give them confidence. That being said, it’s never good coming in to a game off the back of a defeat, which was sustained away to struggling Shrewsbury Town.
Birmingham, on the other hand, are flying, They’ve won their last four on the bounce and have looked a real threat while doing so, backing up their status as heavy favourites for the title. Their last game was a 1-0 win at Exeter where they rotated their squad, probably with one eye on this game.
In terms of this fixture in the past, it’s really not pretty reading for Wrexham fans. Birmingham have won three of the four meetings of the two sides, including all the last three. These haven’t been close games either, with an aggregate score of 12-4. Fans of the Welsh side will be hoping this changes now the season has more momentum, as another heavy defeat would seriously harm their promotion hopes.
