Our Three Predictions For Fulham vs Watford:
- First Prediction For Fulham vs Watford: Fulham to Win the Tie – 1/10

- Third Prediction For Fulham vs Watford: Both Teams To Score – Yes – 93/100
First Prediction For Fulham vs Watford: Fulham to Win the Tie – 1/10
It is no surprise that Fulham are the favourites to win this tie, even with the sides both in the same position a division apart. The Cottagers are currently enjoying their best campaign at this level since finishing in eighth back in 2011. Watford had an excellent first half of the campaign and are still in touch with the Play-Off places, but have stuttered in recent weeks. Prior to back-to-back home losses, the Hornets had the fourth-best home record in the division. But on their travels, Watford have only won twice all season, which, added to Fulham’s record of only losing twice all campaign at Craven Cottage, makes a home victory on Thursday evening appear highly likely.
Second Prediction For Fulham vs Watford: Under 4.5 Goals – 17/100
In an FA Cup tie, goals can be seen to be more likely due to likely squad rotation meaning unfamiliar teammates. Both sides are ranked average in their respective division for goals for and against this season, meaning an extraordinary amount of goals isn’t to be expected. Bar the goalless draw with Southampton just before Christmas, three of the Cottagers last five Premier League encounters have finished 2-2. In the Hornets case, five of their last six outings have finished in a 2-1 scoreline either way, showing that three or four goals can be expected for both in recent games. So, while perhaps an abundance of goals shouldn’t be expected, under 4.5 appears to be on the cards.
Third Prediction For Fulham vs Watford: Both Teams To Score – Yes – 93/100
Given the above statistic, it would be no surprise at all to see Fulham and Watford score in this FA Cup tie. You have to go back to 30th November to find the last Hornets game didn’t involve both teams getting on the scoresheet, in a goalless draw against QPR. In 20 Premier League games, only four Fulham games have ended without each side scoring, with just the singular goalless draw. It is a safe bet then to assume that goals will come at both ends under the Craven Cottage lights this Thursday evening.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:
Fulham are in their most settled spell in the top-flight since they won promotion to this level in 2001. With finishes of 10th and 13th in their last two campaigns, the Cottagers’ current league position of ninth marks steady progress. The West London side navigated a tricky December unbeaten, picking up points against Arsenal and Liverpool before winning at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 1979 in dramatic late fashion.
Draws against both South Coast outfits, Southampton and AFC Bournemouth, have been followed by a penalty-filled stalemate against Ipswich. Raul Jimenez was required to strike twice from the spot, including in the 91st minute to rescue a point. Liam Delap put the Tractor Boys infront for the second time from eighteen yards out, awarded a penalty just 21 seconds after the game was restarted following Jimenez’s first spot kick.
Having been unbeaten at home until the final game of the year, Watford have suffered consecutive home losses. By losing to Cardiff, they also handed the Bluebirds their first away victory of the campaign, but a defeat against Sheffield United hardly upset the formbook given the Blades sit in third place outfit in the second tier. Inbetween those home encounters, the short trip to resurgent QPR also ended in defeat, which leaves the Hornets three points adrift of West Brom in sixth, but with a game in hand.
In December, four consecutive games ended 2-1 after they drew to Hull in their opening game of the month. After overcoming West Brom, promotion chasers Burnley saw off the Hornets despite Kwadwo Baah’s late goal. A dramatic Boxing Day saw Rocco Vata controversially net from the spot in the fifth minute of added time to take the points against Portsmouth, and yet more drama was to follow. Baah was sent off following the final whistle, after celebrating infront of the Pompey players and travelling supporters.
In previous meetings between the two outfits, they have won ten a piece, with nine ending level. Three times have they locked horns in FA Cup ties, and on every occasion has it ended in a 1-1 draw before going to a replay. That scenario though will not happen this evening, with the scrapping of replays meaning that a winner will be decided by extra time and penalties if level after 90 minutes. Watford have the upper hand in recent encounters though, winning three of the last four including 5-0 and 4-1 victories in that time. The latter result was the most recent encounter between the sides and condemned the Cottagers to relegation from the top flight in 2019.
