Our Three Predictions For Wycombe Wanderers vs Huddersfield Town

  • First Prediction: Match Result – Draw – 9/4
  • Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – 33/50
  • Third Prediction: Huddersfield Town – Draw No Bet – 28/25

First Prediction For Wycombe Wanderers vs Huddersfield Town – Match Result – Draw – 9/4

Wycombe saw three points turn into one in the blink of an eye against Blackpool on Saturday when Kyle Joseph netted an added time equaliser. It means that the Chairboys have drawn three of their last five games at Adams Park, with Reading and Bolton Wanderers both leaving Buckinghamshire with a point in December.

Huddersfield have been one of the standout teams in League One over the past few months and are now well and truly in the race for promotion. Although they sit seven points behind second-placed Wycombe, a victory here would see them increase their chances of a top two finish. However, they dropped points on Saturday when they could only muster a 0-0 draw with Rotherham United. This was their third draw in five games and their second in succession.

Second Prediction For Wycombe Wanderers vs Huddersfield Town – Both Teams To Score – 33/50

Wycombe have hit 50 goals this season, the highest in League One, and have only failed to score on one occasion. Although their only blank did come in front of their own supporters against Bolton last month, their form throughout the campaign indicates this was a one-off.

Huddersfield may have one of the best defensive records in the division and have kept three clean sheets in their last four. Still, coming up against League One’s best attack will be a fresh test. They will also be confident they can find the net themselves, with the 0-0 draw against Rotherham the first time they have failed to score since a 0-0 draw with Wrexham in October.

Third Prediction For Wycombe Wanderers vs Huddersfield Town – Huddersfield Town – Draw No Bet – 28/25

Wycombe have been formidable at home, with their only defeat coming in August against league leaders Birmingham City. However, they showed they can be vulnerable when they lost at Charlton Athletic on December 29th and they now come up against one of the most in-form teams in League One.

Huddersfield started life in the third tier slowly but found their rhythm in October. A 1-0 defeat against Birmingham on October 1st was their fourth in succession but they have since embarked on an excellent 14-game unbeaten run. Whereas we have backed a draw, it wouldn’t be a major surprise to see the Terriers sneak a victory. Therefore, backing them on a draw no bet option would see your stake returned if the scores end level.

Full Preview of the Game: Last Results and Head-To-Head

Wycombe ended 2024 with their first defeat since August when they went down 2-1 against Charlton Athletic at The Valley. This saw them drop into the play-off places for the first time since October. They took advantage of slips by both Birmingham City and Wrexham on New Year’s Day to move back to the top of the table with a 2-1 win over Exeter City on New Year’s Day, but surrendered their lead at the weekend when they could only manage a 1-1 draw with Blackpool.

After a really slow start to the season, where Huddersfield embarked on a run of five defeats in six games between August and October, the Terriers have since been going quietly about their business. They are in the midst of a 14-game unbeaten run, but have dropped points in their last two games against Burton Albion and Rotherham United. This has left Michael Duff’s side seven points adrift of the automatic promotion places in fourth, although they do have games in hand on both Wrexham and Wycombe above them.

This is the first meeting between the two teams since 2021, when Wycombe spent a brief time in the Championship. The Chairboys did emerge with a 3-2 victory at the John Smith’s Stadium, with a 0-0 draw being played out at Adams Park earlier on that season. Huddersfield’s last triumph in this fixture came in 2012 when they left Buckinghamshire with an emphatic 6-0 win.
