Our Three Predictions For Wrexham v Peterborough United

  • Prediction 1 – Wrexham To Win – 3/5
  • Prediction 2 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 61/100
  • Prediction 3 – Match To Be A Draw – 59/20

First Prediction For Wrexham v Peterborough United – Wrexham To Win – 3/5

Wrexham are unbeaten at home in League One this season, and that alone makes them huge favourite in this game. Add to that the poor form of Peterborough United, who have only won twice away, and have lost six of their 10 road trips so far, it seems that this looks to be the best home banker of the days games. Throw in the fact that the Welsh outfit are in what seems to be a three horse race for two automatic promotion places, this is a must win for them to keep pace.

Second Prediction For Wrexham v Peterborough United – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 61/100

This match should have goals. And if the statistics prove right, lots of goals. Wrexham have scored 36 in total, with a staggering 27 of those at home. They will surely add to that tally against one of the most porous defences in the whole EFL as The Posh have conceded 45 goals, that practically two goals per game in the league. The flip side of that is that only have a -4 goal difference as they have bagged an amazing 41 times themselves, and against a Wrexham team that at times can leak goals, they could grab something here.

Third Prediction For Wrexham v Peterborough United – Match To Be A Draw – 59/20

The Reds have won all but two of their home league games, and those two have been draws, so they can be held, just not beaten on home soil. This will give the Peterborough faithful some hope as they look to cause a small shock. A draw for United is not completely out of the question, and will likely be the best chance they have from getting anything from this game. They snapped a six game losing streak away when they got a point at Burton a few days ago, and will have to be at their best here if they are to make it two draws on the spin.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

A landmark day for Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson as it is his 1,000th game as a manager across his many clubs and leagues. It is this, his latest instalment as gaffer that he is very much invested in as his side look to keep pace with the front runners at the top of the League One promotion race. After a festive period where they picked up points, they lost their latest game at Barnsley so will need to get back on track here. The usual suspects of Paul Mullin, James McClean, and Ollie Palmer are still leading the line, and have eight goals between them. Defensively the consistent play of 29-year-old Irishman Eoghan O’Connell is keeping things together in a hotly contested league, but his colleague at the back, Max Cleworth, has hit five goals to prove that it is not just their strikers that need marking.

Darren Ferguson is enduring a torrid run of form from his players, although they did manage to save Christmas with a point away at Burton Albion on New Years Day with a 2-2 draw. They run of losses has dropped them perilously close to the drop zone, and the last thing they wanted before an FA Cup trip to Everton would’ve been a game at high flying Wrexham. Malik Mothersille has found the net seven times and is their most established striker currently, but is aided by Ricky-Jade Jones who has one goal less. Emmanuel Fernandez and Oscar Wallin are a decent partnership at the back but will be tested by a strong Wrexham attack.
