Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head
Scott Lindsay told everyone that his side is the biggest in the division, and maybe the one above, when he took charge in late October. His early results did seem to back that bold claim up, but of late the breaks have been put on a solid promotion charge. Two straight defeats, the last a massive 6-3 defeat at Newport will have put a huge dent into their armour, but they will still have lofty ambitions coming into the second half of the campaign. Alex Gilbey will have to recapture his early season form, especially in front of goal where he already has scored nine goals. Irish striker Scott Hogan is leading the line, and has three goals form his eight starts, but the defence will have to be a lot tighter than last week and Laurence Maguire will have to step up more.
Notts County regained some of their early form last weekend with a stellar performance at home to Bradford. The strike duo of David McGoldrick and Alassana Jatta paid dividends in that game, the latter scoring a brace, with the veteran McGoldrick adding another. Should they gain any foothold in this game it could be along afternoon for an MK team that conceded six in their last game. Stuart Maynard will want to build off of that win, and another here will make a real statement of intent as we reach the halfway stage of the season. The two main strikers have been ably supported by Dan Crowley who has added three goals, but his four assists have been a real asset to the attack.
