Our Three Predictions For Leeds United v Oxford United

  • Prediction 1 – Leeds United To Win – 11/100
  • Prediction 2 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 43/25
  • Prediction 3 – Match To End In A Draw – 63/10

First Prediction For Leeds United v Oxford United – Leeds United To Win – 11/100

Leeds United have gone on a run of form that has seen them very much firm favourites for automatic promotion. Currently on an eight game home win streak they will be confident of making it nine heading into the busy Christmas set of games. Their last loss at home was way back in mid-September to Burnley, and they have outscored opponents 20-2 during this win streak. Oxford are on a slippery slope right now and away from home they have only picked up two points, although they were at the start of October which showed a potential change in form, but they have failed to score in four road trips since.

Second Prediction For Leeds United v Oxford United – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 43/25

Oxford have only scored seven times on their travels and that would suggest they will draw a blank in this fixture. They do however chip in with an average of a goal a game, and will take a positive that despite Leeds’ current run, they have conceded a goal in their last two games, and just last week only salvaged a draw at Preston North End in stoppage time. Leeds have become very fruitful in front of goal, especially at home so they should get on the scoreboard again with ease, whereas Oxford will hope to take advantage of any defensive lapse.

Third Prediction For Leeds United v Oxford United – Match To End In A Draw – 63/10

Both teams have drawn six of the games so far in the Championship, so a share of the spoils would not be too far a stretch. Given that Leeds drew last time out, and Oxford have had recent success in terms of a point earned against Millwall three weeks ago. The visitors will have to pull out a huge effort to get anything from this game, but Leeds do have it in them to go on a blip of form, and last week could’ve been the start of that, so all is not lost for Oxford.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

Leeds United have had 13 different goal scorers this season, and that is one reason why they have put themselves in prime position going into this busy period of fixtures. Daniel Farke has ridden the early pressures well and got his team ticking well, mostly with good attacking intent, but also a solid defence that has only conceded 15 goals in the league. Dutch striker Joel Piroe heads the long list of scorers with seven and his three assists means his is very much one of the first names on the team sheet.

Oxford United need a positive result here, as their woeful run of form has seen them tumble to the place just above the drop zone. Late November saw them concede nine in two games and they steadied the ship with a draw against Millwall, but Oxford United are feeling the heat again after two defeats cost Des Buckingham his job lost games against Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday. Youngster Dane Scarlett is the best bet for a smash and grab goal, but Tyler Goodrham will be a threat also. Greg Leigh and Ciaron Brown will need to be extra tight in the heart of defence as they look to keep out a potent Leeds attack, if they do then anything other than a win for the home side will be seen as a huge achievement and may just breathe new life into their season, as new head coach Gary Rowett looks on from the stands after his appointment on Friday afternoon.
