Our Three Predictions For Leeds United vs Middlesbrough

  • First Prediction: Leeds United To Win – 4/5
  • Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – No – 103/100
  • Third Prediction: Leeds United – Over 1.5 Goals – 83/100

First Prediction For Leeds United vs Middlesbrough – Leeds United To Win – 4/5

With Sheffield United dropping points against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, Leeds moved to within one point of the leaders with a win over Derby County. The Whites did suffer a shock defeat against Blackburn Rovers at the end of last month in what was their third reverse of the season. However, they have bounced back strongly after every loss and Saturday’s comfortable victory over the Rams didn’t come as a surprise. Middlesbrough sit fifth in the Championship and have the opportunity to close the gap on the top two, but Leeds are incredibly strong at Elland Road and will be confident of picking up another three points here.

Second Prediction For Leeds United vs Middlesbrough – Both Teams To Score – No – 103/100

Middlesbrough head into this game having only failed to score once in their last six league games, whilst September’s 1-0 defeat to Sunderland was the last time they didn’t find the net on the road. However, Elland Road is an entirely different prospect. Having dropped points in two of their first three home games, Leeds have been flawless at home, winning seven on the bounce. Furthermore, since losing to Burnley in September, only Watford have managed to score. Having kept six clean sheets in their last seven outings in front of their own supporters, another shut out could be on the cards here.

Third Prediction For Leeds United vs Middlesbrough – Leeds United – Over 1.5 Goals – 83/100

Not only are Leeds excellent at shutting shop at Elland Road, but they also have a knack for scoring more than once. They have 22 goals in 10 home games this season, with the only time they have failed to score coming in that defeat against Burnley in September. The other nine games have seen them score at least twice. Middlesbrough have been free scoring as of late, scoring four against Queens Park Rangers, five against Luton Town and six against Oxford United. Leeds may need at least a couple of goals to secure the points.

Full Preview of the Game: Last Results and Head-To-Head

Middlesbrough head into this game having won one of their last three. However, they picked up a respectable point at Burnley at the weekend when they emerged from Turf Moor with a 1-1 draw. Whilst a home defeat against Blackburn was a shock at the end of last month, they had won three on the bounce prior to that, scoring 15 goals in the process. They are the division’s joint top goalscorers with 33, although it is tonight’s opponents who match that record in front of goal. Leeds have won four of their last five games in the Championship and can return to the top of the table with at least a point, albeit temporarily, with Sheffield United due to play on Wednesday night.

Michael Carrick’s team will be hoping they can replicate their previous visit to Elland Road when left Yorkshire with a 3-0 win in the Carabao Cup in August. Last season’s two encounters were both entertaining affairs, Leeds winning 3-2 at home a year ago before they secured a 4-3 victory at the Riverside in April. Middlesbrough’s last league win in this fixture came in 2018.
