Our Three Predictions For Leeds United v Luton Town

  • Prediction 1 – Leeds United To Win – 11/25
  • Prediction 2 – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 51/50
  • Prediction 3 – Match To End In A Draw – 17/5

First Prediction For Leeds United v Luton Town – Leeds United To Win – 11/25

Leeds United are finally hitting the form that many thought they would before the season started, this is largely down to their home form having won their last five games at Elland Road, their last loss – against Burnley – was in mid-September, since then they have outscored opponents 12-1.  Luton Town are the polar opposite, and on their travels have lost their last four games away from Kenilworth Road, to the combined goals total of 5-13. Strangely, their last win on the road was the same date as Leeds’s last home defeat, when they beat Millwall 1-0.

Second Prediction For Leeds United v Luton Town – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 51/50

Both teams are not goal shy, and despite the position Luton find themselves in the standings, they have chalked up 18 goals in their 16 games, which is not befitting a side that is in a potential relegation fight. Even away from home they are scoring. It is conceding that has been their downfall, and this is where Leeds step in. Their prolific goalscoring of late has propelled them into top spot, but even they have their flaws defensively so both teams should be able to grab at least one goal in the match.

Third Prediction For Leeds United v Luton Town – Match To End In A Draw – 17/5

With both teams form home and away, perhaps the best result The Hatters can hope for is a draw. They are capable of achieving this, but only three games they have featured in so far during the league campaign have ended in a stalemate. Leeds are on a roll right now, but teams often slip up when the odds are hugely stacked in their favour, and a midweek game can cause a surprise or two in what is a long campaign. The draw may look unlikely on paper, but should Luton dig in they could come away with a point.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

With an amazing 4-3 at Swansea City, Daniel Farke’s Leeds United hit top spot in the Championship. albeit on goal difference. The trick now though will be to stay there in what is looking like one of the most competitive promotion races for many a season. A win here, against opposition that is still licking its wounds from Premier League relegation, could be a perfect platform to build a strong festive period and a solid push for automatic promotion. Italian Wilfired Gnonto fired the late winner at the weekend, and is becoming a huge threat again in front of goal. He will be ably supported by American Brenden Aaronson and Dutchman Joel Piroe, who between the three of them have notched up 13 goals.

This has been a hugely dissapointing start to the season for Rob Edwards’s Hatters. After the drop they were expected to perform well and be among the early front runners for an immediate return to the top flight. However, a start which had them gain only one point from their opening four fixtures, they have yet to fully recover from that. They have started to show glimpses of the form that helped them gain a surprise short visit to the Premier League, and Edwards will be hoping for a good showing in this game that will add to some confidence that is slowly returning where they have gained seven points from the last four games, but they did suffer a 5-1 reverse at Middlesbrough before the International break. Carlton Morris has grabbed four goals so far, and he could be the man they rely on for any joy in front of goal in this huge game.
