Our Three Predictions For Gillingham v Harrogate Town

  • Prediction 1 – Gillingham To Win – 3/5
  • Prediction 2 – Both Teams To Score – No – 17/25
  • Prediction 3 – Game To End In A Draw – 51/20

First Prediction For Gillingham v Harrogate Town – Gillingham To Win – 3/5

Gillingham are another League Two side that struggle for inconsistency, and have managed to halt a slide of four consecutive games lost. Their home form reflects this, a good 2-0 win against Barrow was followed by four defeats including being knocked out of the FA Cup by Blackpool. However, they returned to winning ways with a impressive 1-0 win over leaders Port Vale. Harrogate Town have struggled for goals away from home, only scoring once on their travels since early September.

Second Prediction For Gillingham v Harrogate Town – Both Teams To Score – No – 17/25

Despite a lack of goalscoring form away from home, Harrogate do still pose a threat in front of goal. Their away form is the third worst in all League Two having won only once so far this season. If they score first they could be tough to break down though as they have only conceded nine times on their league travels. Gillingham have scored a dozen times in the eight games at the Priestfield, and will be confident of adding to that tally in this game.

Third Prediction For Gillingham v Harrogate Town – Game To End In A Draw – 51/20

With the visitors needing points in a bid to move away from the drop zone before the Christmas period of games, they may well look to shut up shop early and get a point, even more so if they get a lead in the game. Gillingham have yet to draw a game at home, with five wins and three losses. This could be the first. If Town dig in they could surprise their hosts, and this may prove to be the best bet of the day.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head To Head

Gillingham sit just outside the playoff places in 10th. After a run of defeats they stemmed the flow with a good draw at Swindon Town, before shocking league leaders Port Vale two weeks ago. After some time off due to the International break, Mark Bonner will have his side ready for a good run leading up to the festive period, with Bromley as their next game. 23-year-old Jayden Clark already has five goals to his name, and with eight other players finding the back of the net, tis is a side that will score from all positions on the pitch.

Harrogate are trying to avoid another season of struggle, but they started to turn a corner in recent weeks. A super 1-0 win in the FA Cup against Wrexham, was followed by a disappointing loss to relegation zone Morecambe, but then rebounded with another fine win against Chesterfield. Those two wins were at home, but their last away match was at Notts County where again they showed well in a narrow 1-0 loss. Simon Weaver will want to keep his side in games, and this has been helped by the assured play of defender Anthony O’Connor, the Irishman has played every game and is the key to keeping things tight.
