1st prediction for Exeter City vs Lincoln City: Match result – Draw
Exeter City have only drawn one game so far this season, that being their 0-0 stalemate with Wigan, but this game is different. With three first-team players on international duty, they’re going to fight tooth and nail not to lose, and that will make it a tight affair. Lincoln City have drawn four games, three of those on their travels, and have a ‘refuse to lose’ attitude that makes them very tough to beat. Given the tight nature at the top of the table, neither side will want to lose this game.2nd prediction for Exeter City vs Lincoln City: Under 2.5 goals in the game
There won’t be a lot of goals. Exeter have the meanest defence in the league, with just ten goals conceded, and the players they’re missing are all attacking individuals. That means the backbone of the team that has such a good record at keeping teams out remains in place. They’ll leverage that against a Lincoln City side that likes to load the box at set pieces, but it means goals will be at an absolute premium. It has 0-0 or 1-1 written all over it.3rd prediction for Exeter City vs Lincoln City: Paudie O’Connor to score anytime
If it is 1-1, then we’re backing Lincoln City defender Paudie O’Connor to score. It’s a big shout, but there’s reasoning behind the pick. Exeter have only conceded ten goals this season, but 40% of those have been from set pieces. Which team have the best record for scoring set pieces in the division? Yep, Lincoln City. Who better to pop up on the end of a set piece than a central defender who has goals and assists from set pieces? He is also fifth for aerial duels contested in League One, winning a whopping 69%.Best odds for Exeter City vs Lincoln City

Full preview of the game: last results and head to head
Lincoln and Exeter share a little history – they were both vying for promotion from League Two in the 2017/18 season. On that occasion, the Grecians came out on top in a play-off semi-final, beating the Imps at St James’ Park in the second leg. After fans flooded onto the pitch, a rivalry, of sorts, was born. It was put to be a couple of months later, when Lincoln registered a 3-0 win en route to the title, but since then meetings have been fairly subdued. Exeter have won one, ending a ten-game Imps unbeaten run in March 2023, and Lincoln have won one, the last meeting, at Sincil Bank earlier this season. In the context of the league season, a win would put Exeter on the same points as Lincoln having played a game fewer, while The Imps could pull six points clear of Gary Caldwell’s men. The big story in the lead up to the game is the absence of three Exeter players, Josh Magennis, Kamarai Doyle and Ilmari Niskanen, all called up for international duty. The late call up for Doyle meant the game could not be called off.
