Our 3 Predictions For Sheffield United vs Sheffield Wednesday
- 1st Prediction: Sheffield United to win 17/20
- 2nd Prediction: Away team to score a goal: no 69/50
- 3rd Prediction: Harrison Burrows to score at any time 167/20
1st Prediction For Sheffield United vs Sheffield Wednesday: Sheffield United to win 17/20
Chris Wilder’s side currently sit in second place in the Championship and come into the Steel City derby in good form having won their last three matches. The Blades have had to contend with a couple of potentially tricky away fixtures in the last week as they have travelled to Blackburn and Bristol City. The Yorkshiremen dispatched John Eustace’s side with relative ease to win two-nil at Ewood Park on Saturday before mounting a late comeback in the Southwest to beat Bristol City two-one. The Blackburn game showed the Blades’ raw attacking quality as they had twice as many shots as their opponents despite having less possession. The Bristol City game showed the character and the drive that Chris Wilder’s team possess as the game was virtually over 85 minutes in yet Harrison Burrows scored with one of the last kicks of the game. A combination of pure quality and character is key to winning any derby game and Sheffield United have proven that they have both qualities in abundance.2nd Prediction For Sheffield United vs Sheffield Wednesday: Away team to score a goal: no 69/50
The Sheffield United defence has been formidable this season and the Sheffield Wednesday attack has been unremarkable, therefore making it a good prediction to say that the away side will not score. The long-standing core of the Blades’ defence has disappeared over the last couple of seasons, but Chris Wilder recruited excellently in the summer and has a large number of high-quality defenders at his disposal. The home side have kept nine clean sheets in the second tier this season, the joint most of any club in the league, and they have one of the lowest xG conceded figures in the Championship. Danny Rohl’s side, meanwhile, have struggled to find a goalscoring striker. Neither Charlie McNeill, Jamal Lowe or Ike Ugbo have really been able to get going in an Owls shirt so far and this has put a lot of pressure on Michael Smith, who only has three league goals himself, to lead the line.3rd Prediction For Sheffield United vs Sheffield Wednesday: Harrison Burrows to score at any time 167/20
Sheffield Wednesday’s lack of a clinical striker has just been highlighted, but their rivals also do not have a clear goalscoring option up front as it stands. Summer signing Kieffer Moore, who had previously excelled in the Championship with Cardiff and Ipswich, has failed to live up to his potential so far, scoring just twice in 14 games for the Blades. Another summer signing, Tyrese Campbell, has been trusted to lead the line in recent games and also has two goals. However, former Peterborough United captain Harrison Burrows has been the source of salvation in the last couple of games, netting in the 98th minute against Bristol City and the 16th minute against Blackburn. The attack-minded left-back showed his eye for goal with Posh last season as he scored 12 goals in all competitions. Judging by the way he has played recently, there is no reason why the 22-year-old could not make the difference on Sunday.Best Odds For Sheffield United vs Sheffield Wednesday

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head
Sheffield Wednesday are currently sitting in a respectable 15th place in the league after a positive run of form. That being said, the Owls are still 13 places below their opponents on Sunday afternoon. Having won each of their last three games, Chris Wilder will expect his side to continue their momentum despite the large mental challenge his young side will face this weekend. The Blades have truly been flying this season after a miserable 2023/24 season and this will be their biggest game yet.
