The visitors in particular are strong at the back and have only conceded nine this season, a record that belies their current position in 11th.

This is perhaps more of a risky bet than the others, but it’s one that makes sense with the quality in both teams. Both sides are on a strong unbeaten run where they’ve found their shooting boots and one would assume this would continue into this game, though it will be a tough test for both sides. It’s hard to see this being an ultra high scoring game with both sides also being strong at the back, but there should also be goals. With Port Vale top of the league, they are a team to be feared and have got to their position having picked up their attacking quality recently. This is an intriguing clash of two teams who are bang in form at the moment; something has to give in this game and one side’s strong spell will come to an end. On paper, it’s the league leaders against a mid-table side, but it’s not that simple. Fleetwood are in just as good form as Vale and have a stronger defence, having conceded three fewer goals. With Port Vale coming in off the back of a victory over MK Dons and Fleetwood an EFL Trophy victory over Barrow, confidence will be high for both teams.
