Leeds United To Swoop For Six-Goal Forward

With Crysencio Summerville’s recent exit and Georginio Rutter set to follow, Leeds United are in the market for forwards with Ranger’s Rabbi Matondo amongst Farke’s targets, according to sources at Football Insider.

A difficult few weeks for Leeds United has seen a number of outgoings, most notably homegrown talent Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville who made the move to West Ham.

A 3-3 draw with newly promoted Portsmouth and an early exit in the Carabao Cup after a 3-0 defeat at home to Middlesbrough has left unrest amongst the fanbase regarding their transfer business.

Making profit in excess on £100 million this window, it has been reported that the West Yorkshire club are plotting a move to sign Rangers’ Rabbi Matondo who contributed six goals and four assists in 31 appearances for the Scottish giants last term.

The wide-man has previous experience in the second tier, having joined Stoke City on loan three years ago; he has since featured in the Champions League for Rangers while establishing himself more with the Wales national team.

This is a deal that has potential to move quickly, with Rangers looking to sell following a rumored £40 million hit in revenue as a consequence of the club failing to qualify for the 2024-25 Champions League.

With the transfer cut-off date on the 31st of August, the Welsh international is rumoured to be amongst a long list of targets for Leeds in the closing stages of the window.

Another transfer target claim from Football Insider in the past few days has been Stoke City’s Million Manhoef if they are to fail in their pursuit of Norwich City’s Jonathon Rowe.

The 22-year-old joined Stoke City only six months ago, managing four goals and one assist since while accruing a valuation of £10 million at the Staffordshire club.

Leeds United’s window was always a question of maintaining their stars after 90 points was not enough to see the club promoted; however, with just over two weeks of the window remaining it is now over to Leeds to replace the likes of Summerville and Gray.

As previously said, the Leeds squad while strong contains many gaps following recent departures. The next two weeks could be hugely decisive on whether Leeds can achieve the same heights as last year.

With nerves beginning to kick-in following a winless opening two fixtures, this is sure to be an interesting fortnight in the closing stages of the window.
