Premier League Club Make First Move For Leeds United Star

Leeds United have received contact from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion for their star winger Crysencio Summerville, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Summerville has been at Elland Road since 2021 and he appeared 34 times for the West Yorkshire side during their Premier League campaigns between 2021-23.

The 22-year-old has played a further 49 times for the Whites this season in all competitions. He has 31 goal involvements, hitting the back of the net 21 times and assisting his teammates a further 10.

United would miss out on promotion to the Premier League as they finished in third position in the second tier. They went on to lose the play-off final to Southampton.

The Elland Road outfit has felt that loss hard, needing to raise funds as they recoup the money they will have missed out on. Journalist Kieran Maguire stated on his ‘X’ account that the club need to raise at least £73 million by the end of the current month.

The Dutchman, who has a market value of around £18m, according to Transfermarkt, is already allegedly attracting interest from Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea, amongst others.

Meanwhile, Brighton finished in 11th position in the top tier and missed out on the European places. They have replaced head coach Roberto de Zerbi with Swiss man Fabian Hurzeler.

Speaking to Sky Sports recently about Summerville, Leeds manager Daniel Farke said:

“His performances and end product, but also his willingness to work for the team, have been outstanding.

“To deliver in this league you have to be on it more or less each and every day on the training pitch, and that is what he’s doing.

“It is no coincidence that he has provided so many decisive goals and assists.

“We don’t have to speak about his potential, because for Cry(sencio) the sky is the limit. But to show consistency, that is quite crucial.”

This is a great opportunity for Brighton to prove they are a big club and pip the Premier League giants to their man. Chances are Summerville will likely see more first-team football at the Seagulls.

Farke’s side will want to recoup as much as they can but the Premier League side will be aware of the predicament that Leeds find themselves in. Whatever happens this summer, the Whites will have a real struggle to keep hold of their man and there is sure to be a bidding war for the attacker.
