Leeds United are hoping to take advantage of Bobby Decordova-Reid’s contract situation at Fulham by convincing the attacker to make a switch to Elland Road, according to TEAMtalk.
The 31-year-old is out of contract at Craven Cottage, although has been offered a new two-year deal. However, it currently looks unlikely that the versatile attacker will accept the proposal. As such, it appears as if his five-year stay at the club will come to an end.
The former Cardiff City man has featured over 200 times for Fulham but is now said to be keen on a fresh challenge. This has alerted a number of clubs, including Everton and Leeds.
The Whites are on the lookout for bargain talent this summer after failing to secure promotion back to the Premier League. There is an expectation that they will have to cash in on their key stars, including Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto. Although that will bring in a significant revenue stream, their current financial situation means they will be unable to reinvest that cash back into the playing squad.
Decordova-Reid would bring much experience to the Yorkshire club, having spent the majority of his career playing in either the Premier League or the Championship. He has also become a staple of the Jamaica national team, earning 29 caps which included four starts in their run to the Gold Cup semi-final last year.
There is also interest from the top tier, with Everton also keen on the player. The Toffees are also looking to strengthen in key areas this summer after once again battling with relegation.
Their off-the-field antics have dominated the last 12 months, which saw them face two separate point deductions over the course of the campaign. As a result, they are another club who will not be able to spend big during the upcoming transfer window.

Leeds know that next season is crucial for them and they will feel that anything other than automatic promotion would be a failure. With departures expected, adding players who are vastly experienced in the Premier League may be their best route out of the Championship.
The issue with that is they will consistently face competition from teams playing the division above and may have a battle on their hands to convince their targets to drop down to the second tier. Decordova-Reid could be convinced by a one-year deal or an option to move on should the Whites fail to secure promotion next season.
