Top Turkish Sides Add Their Interest For Wantaway Leicester City Star

Top clubs will inevitably come in for players who have just had a successful season, and it is perhaps inevitable that one of those players at the top of the shopping list is Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Leicester City frontman helped the Foxes win the Championship this season, and secure an instant return to the Premier League. Leicester will be keen to keep the core of their squad ahead of what will be a difficult campaign but have to be realistic with players’ ambitions and balance the books.

Iheanacho has spent his adult career in English football. A decent spell at Manchester City, albeit a bit part role, meant that to further his chances he would have to leave the Etihad Stadium. The Foxes swooped in and grabbed the Nigerian international for a bargain sum of £25m in 2017.

Since then he has dipped in and out of form, but shown flashes of his talent when it has mattered most. With 35 goals to his name at the King Power Stadium, it is now decision time for the 27-year-old.

It is rumoured by Takvim that top Turkish sides are after his signature. Besiktas, Galatasaray, and Fenerbahce have all made contact with the striker’s agent, but it is the latter of this trio that could hold the aces. Rogon Management look after the players and they have done business with them many times.

After plying his trade in England for all of his career he may want to stay on these shores, and will be an attractive proposition for some, but a change in scenery could be just what he needs, especially if it comes with star billing and a consistent starting place in the team.

The next couple of weeks will be crucial as teams will want to nail down some early signings before players go into major tournaments or have the chance to gain some rest before preseason starts again.

Iheanacho is at a pivotal point in his career. He needs solid game time, with almost guaranteed starts. This is unlikely to happen if he wants to stay in the Premier League, even if he was to stay at Leicester, a team he has told that he wants to move away from.

Turkey may be the answer, as could other areas of Europe such as Germany. Should the Foxes cash in, it may be hard to gain any profit for a player who tends to drift in and out of games. Having said that if a bidding war starts it could tip the scales.
