Newcastle United star Joe Willock’s brother Chris is being linked with a move to Championship outfit Sunderland ahead of the summer window, according to the latest reports.
Chris Willock has been with second-tier side Queens Park Rangers ever since his move from Benfica on transfer deadline day in 2020. The winger has gone on to make 142 appearances in all competitions for the London club but his time at Loftus Road may be coming to an end soon.

The 26-year-old is out of contract this summer and it looks as though he won’t be signing a new deal with QPR to extend his stay beyond the end of the campaign, although head coach Marti Cifuentes has recently admitted how much he rates the player [quotes via London News Online]:
“He knows how much we rate him, and I think he knows how much we like him.
“But what is going to happen in the future I don’t know. What is sure is that he showed [on Saturday] that he loves this club and that he wanted to play here and help us.”
Now, according to Roker Report, Chris Willock is set to sign for Sunderland during the summer transfer window as the club looks to add further depth to their attacking ranks ahead of a potential push for promotion to the Premier League next season.
The Willock family are quite a talented bunch. Joe currently plies his trade with Newcastle United in the top-flight while Matty Willock came through the esteemed academy of Manchester United. Now, Chris could join his brother in the north-east by moving to the Stadium of Light.

If this deal comes to fruition and should Newcastle United and Sunderland lock horns in the near future, as they did back in January in the FA Cup, it will make for one feisty affair between the two talented brothers.
This is also a decent signing for the Black Cats. Willock previously picked up the Players’ Player of the Year and Supporters’ Player of the Year awards at QPR but things have gone a little stale for him in his career. Perhaps a switch to Sunderland is a good move for the winger.
