Leeds United Superstar On The Radar Of European Giants

Unsurprisingly, a recent report from HITC, has suggested that Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville is being monitored closely by up to eight clubs across Europe. With the West Yorkshire side closing in on an automatic promotion place, it’s looking increasingly likely that the Dutchman could return to the Premier League either way.

With the pacey winger’s contract expiring in the summer of 2026, Leeds would show no hesitation in extending his stay at Elland Road, should they gain promotion this time around. But with European giants circling for Summerville’s signature, the lure of Champions League or Europa League football may be too great to turn down. With 17 goals and eight assists in the Championship this season, it’s no shock that Leeds are eager to pen him a new long-term contract.

The Premier League clubs who have placed Summerville on their radar are Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, and West Ham United. If that isn’t enough to question the Netherlands international’s stay at Leeds, then interest from Bayer Leverkusen, Atletico Madrid and FC Porto could also prove to be a temptation.

Summerville has been immense this season for the Whites and his impressive goal involvement statistics are the result of extremely consistent and exciting performances. The winger ranks in the 98th percentile for both chances created and shots attempted – when compared to other attacking midfielders/wingers according to FotMob. This excellent threat level and attacking output has spearheaded a Leeds resurgence in the league and they now look set to push Ipswich Town and Leicester City for the Championship title.

The 22-year-old’s recent performances have particularly epitomised why European clubs look set to battle it out for his signature in the summer. Scoring what looked like the winning goal in a 3-1 win against Hull City on Monday, before Daniel James converted the third from the penalty spot, deep into added time. Summerville played a crucial part in making sure his side maintained their push for the summit in that game.

Writer’s view

Summerville has been a standout performer for Leeds this season and has been given his platform to flourish. Daniel Farke has shown faith in his Dutch superstar and that could earn him a huge move to a Premier League or European top-flight club very soon. There should be no question as to whether a player of his calibre deserves a move of this eminence.

With a bright future ahead of the 22-year-old winger, the possibilities for trophies and personal accolades look endless if the right move can materialise for him. The sky truly is the limit and there’s a feeling that the best is still yet to come from the winger.
