Hull City manager Liam Rosenior believes the best is yet to come from his squad as we prepare to enter the final weeks of the season.
The Tigers are well in the mix to secure a Championship play-off place this season, although four succussive draws have seen them replaced in the top six by Norwich City. However, just goal difference separates the two sides, whilst Coventry City sit a point further back in eighth.
Hull were originally scheduled to travel to the CBS Arena this weekend, but the Sky Blues’ exploits in the FA Cup now mean that they face a prolonged break due to the upcoming round of international fixtures next week. It means they are not in action until the end of the month when they host relegation-threatened Stoke City at the MKM Stadium.
Norwich face the same opposition at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday knowing that a win would give them a three point gap over their nearest rivals. However, Rosenior believes that the mini-break will do his squad the world of good.
Speaking to Hull Live, the 39-year-old is looking forward to the latter stages of the campaign, when they warmer weather comes into play:
“I feel we’re a team made for April and May, I feel that’s the type of team that we are. I think we’re a team that with the way that we play, the type of players that we have, I think we’re made for good pitches, nice weather.
“I remember Swansea last season when Russell (Martin) was there, I think they won five or six in a row towards the end. They went through a difficult period in February and March, but when it came to the pitches being good, that’s when they came to the fore, and that’s what I’m hoping for. I’m hoping for us to get through this period still in a really good place, and then I want us to peak towards the end of the season.”
After Stoke, Hull travel to title challengers Leeds United to kick off the hectic end to the season.

This is an interesting claim from Liam Rosenior. His team are exciting to watch and it is true that the players at his disposal may be better suited to superior pitches.
Of course, that remains to be seen, but with eight games scheduled from April 1st, the manager will be hoping he is right. If he is, the Tigers are well placed to earn a spot in the play-offs in the hope of returning to the Premier League for the first time since 2017.
