Ipswich Town Close To Securing Signing Of International

Ipswich Town are closing in on the signing of Welsh international striker Kieffer Moore on loan, according to journalist Mark McAdam.

The 31-year-old has been widely tipped to leave AFC Bournemouth this month in search of regular first team football after being relegated to a bit-part role at the Vitality Stadium. The attacker has one goal in eight Premier League appearances this season, although he has totalled just 100 minutes on the pitch thus far.

A romantic return to former club Cardiff City had been touted, with the Bluebirds making no secret of their desire to bring Moore back to South Wales. He spent a season and a half at the club between 2020 and 2022, scoring 25 goals in 66 appearances, before making the move to the Cherries.

Sunderland have also been heavily linked as they look to bolster their attacking options, but it appears as if another of the Black Cats’ promotion rivals have won the race to secure his signature.

According to Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdam, Ipswich Town have agreed a loan deal with Bournemouth which will see him head to Portman Road until the end of the season. However, the deal is dependent on whether they can complete the transfer of Getafe forward Enes Unal, who is currently undergoing a medical in Madrid.

The Tractor Boys currently sit in the final automatic promotion spot in the Championship as they target a place in the Premier League for the first time since 2002. However, their recent form has been poor, and they have picked up just one league win in their last seven outings as well as exiting the FA Cup at the hands of non-league Maidstone United last weekend.

This has opened up an opportunity for both Southampton and Leeds United as the pair target an immediate return to the top tier following their respective relegations last season. There is now just two points separating the trio and Kieran McKenna knows that he will need to turn around the club’s fortunes in order to achieve their aim of promotion.

McAdam states that Moore’s transfer to Suffolk will include bonuses should Ipswich be promoted at the end of the season.

Kieffer Moore is a player that will arrive at Ipswich with plenty of Championship pedigree and Kieran McKenna will be hoping he is the man that can fire them to glory. Despite hitting 51 goals this season, the load has been evenly shared out between a number of players and Conor Chaplin is currently the club’s top goalscorer with nine.

The Welsh international is certainly a player who knows where the back of the net is, with over 100 goals in his career to date. This could be just the signing the Tractor Boys need to halt their alarming form and fire them into the Premier League.
