Wrexham are always associated with big money deals, likely due to the Hollywood connections. As the window closes they are about to break their record deal for an incoming player.
Jamie Lindsay could become the Red Dragons’ most expensive player, according to reports led by Goal.com. The midfielder is in talks to join the Welsh outfit as they aim to add to their squad as they make their promotion charge.
28-year-old Lindsay is reportedly going to surpass the deal that sent Ollie Palmer to the high-flying Welsh team from AFC Wimbledon for £300,000 and is said to be in the final stages of the deal.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have built the club up into the envy of many, but along the way made some shrewd business. Jamie Lindsay will be one of a few players who have dropped down leagues to be part of what the owners are building.
James McClean, George Evans, and Steven Fletcher have all made the leap of faith to be part of the project this season, and others before them have jumped at the chance to be part of the ongoing success story.
Lindsay spent the early part of his career in his native Scotland, starting on Celtics books, before amassing over 100 appearances for Ross County, Grennock Morton, and Dumbarton. Then in 2019, he made the switch to Rotherham United where he has racked up a total of over 130 first-team appearances.
Having been capped several times at youth level for Scotland, his time for a full call-up has likely long gone, but with the Scottish side having an upturn in fortune, a move into the spotlight could bring in a new chapter.

It is unlikely that Lindsay will be the only incoming player at Wrexham over the next day, but certainly the most expensive. Should the deal go through it will be a decent addition to the promotion mindset of Wrexham, and maybe be enough to put them firmly into the top three automatic places for the remainder of the season.
