West Bromwich Albion are bracing for a busy end to the January transfer window as two key stars could be heading out the exit door, according to the latest reports.
The biggest issue for the Baggies this term is the side’s inconsistency in the Championship. Across their last seven league outings, West Brom have suffered three defeats and one draw, while picking up three victories.
Furthermore, the Midlands club have seen just one player come through the doors during the winter window in the shape of Andreas Weimann who joined on a loan deal until the end of the campaign from Bristol City. On the other hand, Jeremy Sarmiento was recalled from his spell at The Hawthorns and has since joined Ipswich Town, while Taylor Gardner-Hickman parted on a permanent basis.
The major worry for West Bromwich Albion supporters from now until the end of the window will be whether the club will sell more players, with a number of important stars being linked with moves away from the club.
According to a new report from HaberTS, via West Brom News, midfielder Okay Yokuslu is likely to leave the club before next Thursday’s transfer deadline day, with Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor hoping to secure his services.
Yokuslu still has 18 months remaining on his current deal with West Bromwich Albion, while the Turkey international currently boasts a market value of £2.5 million, as per Transfermarkt.
Nevertheless, in an interview with beIN Sports back in September, the 29-year-old’s agent revealed that the midfielder is determined to stay and continue playing for West Brom [quotes via Birmingham Live]:
“We said that we wanted to continue our football life in England and we were not interested.
“Some Turkish clubs also asked about the situation, but we did not accept unless there was an extraordinary situation. We are determined to continue our football life in England.”
It has also been reported by The Telegraph this week that Luton Town were eyeing a swoop for West Brom’s star defender Kyle Bartley to strengthen their squad ahead of the final few months of the campaign.

Yokuslu has been an integral part of Carlos Corberan’s system this season and has made 28 appearances in all competitions for West Brom, playing for just under 2,000 minutes in total. Meanwhile, Bartley has featured 25 times for the Baggies under the Spanish coach.
In addition, West Bromwich Albion boast the third-best defensive record in England’s second tier this season and both men have been influential in this impressive record. Losing the duo could significantly hamper the side’s chances of earning promotion back to the Premier League.
