West Bromwich Albion are looking to bolster their attacking department before the winter window closes and will reportedly make a move for an England U20 international.
The Baggies continued their surge for promotion back to the Premier League on Saturday with an emphatic 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at The Hawthorns, going in three goals to the good at half-time.
Having been quite inconsistent in recent weeks, the Baggies will be hoping to keep pressure on the top four, although Carlos Corberan’s side currently sit in fifth place, 13 points behind Ipswich Town who occupy the final automatic promotion spot.
However, Corberan will be most pleased with the win at the weekend as it opened up a five-point gap between West Bromwich Albion and seventh-place Sunderland, who suffered a defeat against Ipswich at Portman Road, offering the Midlands club some breathing room in the top six.
Now, the Spanish coach is keen to add more depth and quality to his forward line. According to The Daily Mail, West Brom will battle it out with Sunderland and Premier League strugglers Everton for the signature of West Ham United attacker Divin Mubama.
It was reported earlier in the campaign that League One outfit Derby County have also been keeping tabs on Mubama’s progress with the Hammers as the 19-year-old is out of contract at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, while the player is said to be on £4,000-per-week at the London Stadium.

Mubama would leave West Ham United as a European champion, having been on the bench as David Moyes’ side lifted the UEFA Europa Conference League with a 2-1 win over Fiorentina back in June.
The goalscoring burden for West Bromwich Albion has fallen firmly on Brandon Thomas-Asante this season. The former Salford City centre-forward has scored nine times in the Championship this season for the Baggies which comes to just under a quarter of West Brom’s total league goals.
Corberan needs someone to come in and alleviate some of that pressure off Thomas-Asante’s shoulders and Mubama, who will be champing at the bit for a new challenge, may be the perfect player to do so.
