Carvalho represents a really smart piece of business for Hull. A proven player in the league, with two seasons of coaching behind him at the highest level with Liverpool and RB Leipzig. He has goalscoring and goal-making qualities, and it’s the type of signing that could push Hull into the play-offs spots in the second half of the season.

Providing everything goes well and they see off Southampton’s interest in the coming days, this could end up being the signing of the window in the Championship for the Tigers.
