£21 Million Star Could Return To Leeds United This January

Leeds United could sanction Luis Sinisterra’s return this winter, ending Jaidon Anthony’s time at Elland Road after merely a few months, according to reports.

The Peacocks managed to strike a deal with Bournemouth late on transfer deadline day which saw Anthony move to the Yorkshire outfit, having been left out in the cold by head coach Andoni Iraola.

Meanwhile, Luis Sinisterra was one of a plethora of Leeds’ relegated Premier League squad with a relegation clause inserted into his contract, following his £21.4 million move from Feyenoord in 2022.

Sinisterra did start the season by featuring three times under Daniel Farke in a Leeds shirt but earned a loan move to Bournemouth shortly after. However, the winger’s time at the Vitality Stadium hasn’t gone as well as he’d hoped.

The Colombia international has made merely nine appearances for the Cherries, scoring one goal and recording one assist but his game-time has been limited to just 261 minutes in total.

On the flip side, Anthony has featured 16 times for Leeds United this term but only two of these appearances in the Championship have been starts. Furthermore, he has scored just one goal.

Now, according to a report from TeamTalk, Leeds and Bournemouth will agree to terminate the swap deal once the January transfer window opens up. The outlet are claiming that neither player has had the desired impact at their new clubs, leading the two sides to revisit the transfer over the coming weeks.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see this loan deal cancelled and perhaps it would be best for all parties if it did conclude in January.

Sinisterra still scored six goals for Leeds last season and can be a useful member of Daniel Farke’s squad going forward in a weaker league than the top flight. Additionally, he could add better competition for Daniel James on the right than Anthony has.
