Cardiff City, Swansea City and Bristol City are among several clubs across the English Football League who are considering a move for Bath City’s forward Jordan Thomas, according the Peter O’Rourke at Football Insider.
The 22-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from plenty of admiring EFL teams. Around 23 scouts watched the starlet in action as Bath lost 1-0 at home against Yeovil on Wednesday, December 6.
Thomas has also caught attention for his standout attacking play this season. The Bath City man has scored eight goals in 21 National League South appearances, helping the Romans to keep chase with the play-off places.
With clear potential for goals and attacking quality, Cardiff, City, Swansea and Bristol, all located nearby Bath in the Welsh and South-West regions, appear to be some of the frontrunners to move for the talented 22-year-old winger.
To help their potential transfer causes, Bath are reportedly willing to let Thomas leave the club for a chance to play at a higher level. However, it appears that there will be plenty of opposition for the young player’s signature in January or in the summer as Thomas is regarded as one of the best current talents in non-league, who also has the potential to step into professional football.
Formley on the books at Oxford United, Thomas moved from the U’s academy to Didcot Town in the 2020 summer transfer window. In 2021, Thomas moved again to North Leigh where he made 100 appearances and scored 32 goals across two seasons before joining Bath at the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign.

The interest in Thomas appears to be heating up and multiple teams could battle for the 22-year-old’s signature in January. However, with Thomas’ spell at Oxford’s academy his only Football League experience, a loan-to-buy option, where the winger heads back to Bath to complete the season, might be a more suitable approach.
Nonetheless, whichever team signs the talented forward will have a genuine prospect in their ranks. At present, it would appear that high-flying Cardiff are arguably the best-placed side to attract Thomas as the Bluebirds are seventh in the Championship following a strong start under Erol Bulut.
