European giants Real Madrid have not ruled out the signing of Sunderland youngster Jobe Bellingham in the future, according to the Spanish news website Defensa Central.
Jobe, 18, is the younger brother of the sensational new Real Madrid signing Jude, 20, and is attracting a lot of interest from top clubs after his impressive start to the Championship season.
Having joined from boyhood club Birmingham City in the summer, the midfielder has really hit the ground running, starting all 16 matches for the Black Cats. He has scored three goals so far this season and warranted his England under-19 call-up September, having also represented the Three Lions at every level since under-16.
He has very impressively managed to keep his place in a Sunderland side with competition for places over established EFL players such as Alex Pritchard and Bradley Dack – playing so well that manager Tony Mowbray cannot drop him.
So, it is no surprise that Real Madrid are keeping tabs on him, especially with the success they have had since the £88.5 million (plus add-ons) signing of his brother, scoring 13 goals in 14 matches for the Spanish side and looking very bright when playing for Gareth Southgate’s England senior side.
Defensa Central report that, although the attention that Jobe Bellingham is attracting from top sides around the world, if he were to sign for a top Premier League club, it would be “impossible” for Los Blancos to lure him out. As a result, they realise that if they decide to sign him they would have to act fast to fend off other clubs.
So whilst his older brother continues to become one of the most exciting young talents in world football, there is a distinct possibility that Jobe Bellingham can follow the same career path with his mature and eye-catching performances for Sunderland, to the point in which Real Madrid, one of the biggest clubs in the world, are keeping very close tabs on him.

Whilst the younger Bellingham has certainly been very impressive in the Championship this season, he must continue to perform to a high level throughout the course of the campaign. November is the time of year where transfer rumours will always be circulating as the January transfer window looms, but in Jobe’s case at such a young age, performing consistently every week should be a primary focus – Keep doing what he’s doing and if the big move comes, it comes. However, he is certainly a talent worth keeping your eyes on in the coming months.
It’s an easy link to make in light of Jude’s success at the Bernabeu, although the idea that big clubs are keeping tabs on him will definitely have some truth behind it. However, as a new signing, Sunderland will be reluctant to sell him unless a real big money move from a big club does come in.
