Leeds United Have No Interest In Selling Red-Hot Talent

Leeds United have no intentions of losing Crysencio Summerville in the January transfer window, according to Dean Jones, speaking to GIVEMESPORT.

The 22-year-old winger moved to Yorkshire for just £1.5 million in 2020 and has since impressed in both the Premier League and Championship. This season, so far, the Dutchman has scored six goals and provided four assists in just twelve matches in the league.

According to Fabrizio Romano, this form has welcomed interest in his services from Premier League sides, with reported interest from Bournemouth, Everton, and Burnley in the summer just passed. Summerville picked up four goals and two assists in the top flight last season, most notably a last-minute winner versus Liverpool at Anfield, a goal that gave the Reds their only home league defeat that season.

Dean Jones, speaking to Give Me Sport, discussed the youngster’s start to this season; he said: “They’re delighted this one has worked out how it has because he’s proved so important.

“I think that the one thing for Leeds to be careful of here is that the teams down the bottom end of the Premier League will be crying out for a guy who can open any defence up and just create a spark. So, players like Summerville will be in demand in January for some desperate teams.”

Jones, however, is insistent on Leeds’ hard stance on any potential deal; he claims: “They’ll do everything they can to put off any potential buyers because they’ve got absolutely no interest in selling him.”

The Whites host Plymouth this weekend as they try to close the gap on the top 2 in The Championship. Summerville is sure to play a key role in the side as he looks to improve on his already red-hot form.

Summerville has been the main man for Daniel Farke in many games this season and currently sits as the club’s top scorer. This, paired with his willingness to stay in the summer despite relegation, ensures Leeds fans will have no interest in seeing him leave the club.

With Leeds’ history of not standing in the way of top players leaving the club, this could be the 49er’s opportunity to show ambition and how things will work under their new ownership if they can convince the player to stay.
