Club Is “A Different Place” Compared To Last Season Claims Cardiff City Star

Cardiff City fullback Perry Ng has admitted that the club feels like “a different place” compared to their difficult season last term.

The Liverpool-born defender opened the scoring in the side’s 2-0 victory against Bristol City in the Severnside Derby on Saturday with a neat header from a corner.

Speaking to the club website, Ng said: “I don’t get many with my head, so it was nice. I just tried to cause mayhem in the box and luckily, it landed on my head”

It was his second goal in as many games, as he scored a brilliant free kick in the Bluebirds’ 4-0 victory away to Championship strugglers Huddersfield Town last Tuesday.

He believes that they have made the Cardiff City Stadium a difficult place to visit and will look to use the positive home atmosphere to continue their momentum.

“After the Blackburn Rovers defeat, we’ve bounced back at Huddersfield Town and have come here. This place is hard to come now, and we just need to keep it up.” said the 27-year-old.

The victory on the weekend saw Cardiff rise to fifth in the Championship and maintain their unbeaten record at home which now spans six games.

“We’ve got a really good group now, we’ve got some really good players and we look like a proper team,” said Ng.

He added: “It’s unbelievable, compared to last year, it’s a different place. We’ve been really good in derbies recently, so let’s keep it up and keep this place bouncing.”

The Bluebirds have had quite a remarkable transformation over the summer. Under new manager Erol Bulut, the squad has been revitalised and the atmosphere around the club has led to much more positive results. They managed to bring in a host of talent during the transfer window with the biggest name being the return of Welsh icon and academy graduate Aaron Ramsey. Furthermore, the Bluebirds managed to do this business whilst under a transfer embargo. and it is really impressive to see.

City have also had a poor recent record in derby games but this has been improved massively already at the start of the season. They have picked up two 2-0 victories at home against Swansea City and Bristol City and have had a host of other excellent results. Cardiff are fully deserving of their fifth place at the moment with the possibility of being outside contenders for the play-off spots. The club will be hoping to maintain this positive atmosphere and with the ability to spend in January, will be able to add to a squad that is already thriving.
