Hull City Star Fires Warning To Teammates Following Dropped Points

Hull City star midfielder Jean Michaël Seri has called for his teammates to show more calmness when playing at home in order to continue their surge for the playoff places.

The Tigers have had an excellent start to this season, having lost just once in the Championship. Prior to this weekend, Liam Rosenior’s side were sitting fourth but a 1-1 draw with newly-promoted Plymouth Argyle yesterday has pushed the team down to sixth.

Adam Randell opened the scoring for the visitors but Regan Slater levelled the game for the hosts a minute before half-time. Unfortunately for Hull, they couldn’t find the winning goal and had to settle for a point in the end.

Despite the team’s solid form, Rosenior’s men have won merely once this season at the MKM Stadium which came back in August against strugglers Sheffield Wednesday. The other three victories have all been away from home.

Speaking before yesterday’s game, Jean Michaël Seri urged his teammates to remain calm at home and insisted that the lack of calmness is what is hampering the Humberside club at the moment.

Interestingly, Seri’s comments came to fruition with the result [quotes via Hull Live]:

“Sometimes because the crowd want us to play quicker, some players want to play forward when they don’t have to. The key for the next game at home is for us to be calm.”

“Why we win away is because we are so calm. We play with calmness and purpose at the end of it we score a goal, and sometimes, it can look easy,” he continued.

“One of the most difficult things in football is to play easy and when we play it easy with our structure we can smash every team in this league, but when we are at home, we are always in a rush.

“Sometimes on the pitch he [a player] can feel the pressure so he will play quick, he has to be calm. We all have to think that at home, we have to be more calm and follow the plan from the manager.”

Since Rosenior took over at Hull almost a year ago, the team have lost merely two games at home. However, City have also won merely six games in 18.

Tigers fans may prefer to play away from home at the moment given the team are struggling to win a game at their own ground.
