Former Fleetwood Town loanee Admiral Muskwe is a transfer target for Championship side Rotherham United as Luton Town are looking to sell the Zimbabwean striker before the transfer window closes, according to reports.
Having been with Leicester City since the age of nine but failing to make a single competitive appearance in the first-team, the Hatters purchased Muskwe in the summer of 2021 for an undisclosed fee.
The Zimbabwe international did make 17 appearances for Luton as Nathan Jones’ side reached the playoffs in the 2021/22 campaign but was loaned out in the following season to Fleetwood Town.
With the Kenilworth Road club now promoted to the Premier League, head coach Rob Edwards has not handed Muskwe a squad number and is hoping to sell the 24-year-old before the window closes in little over a week, as reported by the Evening Standard.
However, the outlet are also claiming that Rotherham are leading the chase for the forward’s signature and that Luton Town will consider a loan move for Muskwe should a permanent deal not materialise with any suitors.
Muskwe has one year remaining on his current contract with the newly-promoted side with an option to extend his deal for a further year but the club do not plan on doing so, leaving the attacker in limbo about his future.
It was reported by Darren Witcoop back in June that the ex-Wycombe Wanderers loanee was a loan target for League One outfit Barnsley but a move never came to fruition.

A permanent move away from the club is perhaps the best course of action for Muskwe at this stage of his career.
Rob Edwards has made it clear that he has no intention of giving game-time to the former England U17 international by not handing him a squad number and so it would be in the player’s best interests to find minutes elsewhere.
