Following yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers at Fratton Park, Portsmouth owner Michael Eisner has publicly stated that a new signing will be made either today or tomorrow.
Luke Thomas opened the scoring for the visitors on his debut after Pompey failed to defend a dangerous counterattack down the left-hand side. It looked as though the score would stay this way.
However, in stoppage time, Kusini Yengi headed the ball in off the post to level the scoring, bagging on his debut having signed from Western Sydney Wanderers in the summer.
Yengi was one of 12 new arrivals at Fratton Park but the signings are not set to stop there, according to chairman Michael Eisner.
Eisner revealed that one more player will be coming through the doors at Portsmouth and will be announced either today or tomorrow [quotes via Portsmouth News]:
“We’ve got one more (signing) that we will be announcing Sunday or the next day.”
The billionaire also mentioned that the recruitment team, including head coach John Mousinho, is happy with the in-take of players:
“They [the football operation] got what they asked for, they are happy with their results.
“There’s been a lot of work. It’s not happened in one week, it’s been going on since January.”

Of the 12 players to arrive, just one was a loan signing – 19-year-old Abu Kamara who joined on loan from Championship outfit Norwich City.
Pompey have been one of the most active teams in the transfer market this season across all League One sides but there will likely be a gelling period for the group, causing some mixed results early doors.
Nevertheless, the squad is much stronger than last term and so the more games that the squad plays together, the better they will get. It could be an exciting campaign for the club on the South Coast.
