“He Is Everything My Players Should Look Like” – Crawley Town Boss Makes Truthful Admission

Crawley Town manager Scott Lindsey has praised his player Aramide Oteh, saying ‘He is a different class’ after receiving the Man of the Match award in the Red Devils’ latest 2-1 victory against Tranmere Rovers.

Amidst a relegation fight at the bottom of League Two, the club has enjoyed an up-and-down spell with Lindsey since his appointment in January, with the former Swindon manager having a 27.8% winning percentage as Crawley boss.

However, after a vital 2-1 victory to Tranmere on Saturday, Lindsey has said Oteh has been a key part for when his side has found success under his reign.

The 24-year-old signed for the Reds back in February 2022, after bouncing around between six clubs in his previous five seasons.

Now the forward is starting to find a permanent home in Lindsey’s squad, starting in 13 games since the change in management. The Englishmen most recently scored in Crawley’s latest win, taking his tally to five goals on the season with an assist to add.

With just four games remaining in the season, the Reds face a challenging fight to stay in the Football League. Currently sat one spot out of the relegation zone in 22nd, the South London club are two points above fellow strugglers Hartlepool.

However, with just two wins in their last six games and the Pools in the better run of form, all eyes will turn to next Saturday when the two sides face each other in a massive six-pointer.

Speaking to Sussex World after the victory on the weekend, Lindsey smiled when he got to speak about Oteh and his squad.

He said: “He is a different class. His work ethic is incredible. He is everything my players should look like. The will and determination to win, to work hard, to score goals. He’s great.

“I am really pleased with the result and the performance. I thought we were aggressive and had some really good passages.

“I felt before the game the lads were really focused, probably more so than I have seen before. There just seemed to be a different vibe in the dressing room before the game. They were really focused on getting three points.”

As a Swindon fan, I hold no bad blood against Lindsey and wish him the best at Crawley. While he has certainly struggled at times and his football may not be for everyone, all that matters while he is in charge of Crawley is getting the three points on Saturday.

Hartlepool looks like the more threatening team to the Reds at the moment, but if they can come out on top in the six-pointer, they may just keep themselves in the Football League.
