Stevenage have today announced that Thimothée Lo-Tutala has joined the club on an emergency loan deal from Hull City according to Stevenage’s official website.
This is Stevenage’s second emergency loan signing of the season, and Lo-Tutala will be the 5th goalkeeper to play between the sticks for Boro this season.
The loan comes after Jon McCracken sustained an ankle injury in last Saturday’s game against Northampton Town, and has returned to his parent club Norwich City.
As per the announcement on Stevenage’s official website the 20-year-old trained with the squad this week ahead of their Good Friday fixture against Colchester United.
Lo-Tutala joined Hull in 2022 from Tottenham Hotspur, where he played in their academy system. The keeper has been an unused sub on 14 occasions for the Tigers this season.
Despite appearing on the bench, the 20-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance. He looks set to do so at the Lamex.
Steve Evans’ side head into the Easter weekend 3rd in the table but sit just two points clear of Carlisle United in 4th.
It’s two games in the space of 4 days for the teams in League Two. Boro first welcome Colchester United to the Lamex on Good Friday and then travel to Hartlepool United on Easter Monday.
Both teams are deep in the relegation battle at the bottom of League Two. Stevenage like most clubs will be looking to take all six points this weekend to boost themselves further into those automatic promotion places.
As detailed in the announcement on the Hull City official website, the loan is just a seven day deal following the EFL’s emergency loan rules.

It is certainly not unheard of but not ideal for Stevenage to have to make yet another emergency loan signing. I’d imagine Steve Evans will be desperate to get a consistent number one between the sticks.
Having not made a senior appearance, it certainly poses a risk for the promotion chasers having that inexperience in goal.
Colchester and Hartlepool will certainly be planning ways to use that to their benefit in the hope they can pull off an upset.
