Notts County Announce Signing Of Former League One Forward

Notts County have today confirmed the signing of Dagenham & Redbridge forward Junior Morias via the clubs Twitter.

The Nottinghamshire based side have been on a tremendous charge for the title this season, as they look to earn promotion back to the Football League, providing an entertaining battle with Wrexham along the way.

The side have not been shy of goals this season as they have striker Macauley Langstaff among their ranks. Langstaff has been dubbed the “Non-League Haaland” this season as he has so far led his team with 36 goals in 37 games.

For Junior Morias, he has been a mainstay in the first team at Dagenham & Redbridge this season, making 33 appearances and scoring in 10.  The club have primarily deployed Morias as a centre-forward this season with eight of his goals coming in the 29 times he has played in that role, however, he has also featured on the left-wing seven times this season, managing to find the net twice from that position.

The striker came through the academy ranks at Premier League side Fulham, before joining Wycombe on a scholar contract for two years, this would be the club he would sign his first professional contract with, as he went on to make 19 appearances for The Chairboys’, all coming from the bench. His professional debut would come against the club he now departs, featuring off the bench in a 3-0 defeat.

Morias earned himself a move to the Football League as he joined Peterborough in January 2017, where he would score 11 and assist seven in 51 appearances for The Posh. He would leave the club in July 2018 to make the drop to League Two and join Northampton Town, he joined on a two year contract but would depart for St Mirren after one year where he found the net six times in 25 games.

Goals is not something Notts County find hard to come by as proven by Langstaff’s record this season, but it can never hurt to have more right? And Morias has proven he can score goals in a struggling side, so with the service Notts County have to score goals, surely he can only excel in this position.

The experience Morias has can only benefit both club and player for the remainder of this season, but you can only imagine with the League One and Two experience the player has, this is a signing for the club already having one eye on the division above. However, that experience can boost the club now as they still have a title race to finish before they can claim that place in the division.

Notts County fans, how do you feel about your new striker?
