Charlton Boss Eyed Up For Shock Move

Charlton manager Dean Holden is reportedly under consideration for the vacant managers job at Championship side Huddersfield Town, according to Simon Jones of The Daily Mail.

The Terriers are reportedly admirers of the way he has brought stability to the League One club after he took over the Addicks at Christmas.

Huddersfield are now looking for their fourth manager since the summer after sacking Mark Fotheringham, a run which began with now West Brom boss Carlos Corberan resigning in July.

Holden was praised for his Carabao Cup run with his Bristol City side, as well as his performance against Manchester United in the quarter-finals, since joining Charlton, he has overseen four wins in their last five games, their only defeat coming to promotion contenders Bolton Wanderers.

One other factor that has been noticed is the major impact has had with Charlton not just on the pitch, but in the dressing room as well, winning over many of the Addicks’ fans with his management style, as well as restoring order within the squad.

With questions asked over the clubs prospective ownership, many worry that Holden will not be with the League One club past this summer.

Holden has only been in charge of Charlton for a short time, but he has already spent time in the Championship with Bristol City, so there is not much question over whether he is ready for a job in that division.

And with the stability he has restored to Charlton, it is easy to see why he is an attractive candidate for Huddersfield and has been placed on their shortlist early on in their search for new management, it would be a short-lived tenure for him in League One, but with the Championship calling again, it would be hard to see him resisting the call, especially giving the uncertainty at the Valley currently.

Charlton fans, do you think you can hold on to Holden?
