Struggling Ipswich Town are set to be boosted by the return of Danny Rowe, as revealed by the club’s official website.
The 27-year-old attacker is reported to have advanced in his recovery from knee surgery over recent weeks and is now focusing on a return to first-team action. With just four wins in 24 outings, The Tractor Boys need a boost and will be hoping the lively winger will provide just that.
“Danny is getting closer now,” Blues boss Paul Lambert told the Club website.
“Losing him was a blow because he was playing well at the time. He will give us another option when he’s ready.”
Rowe spent much of his early career in the non-league scene with Stockport, Macclesfield, Barrow and Fylde, before emerging with the Silkmen in his second spell at the club. He joined Ipswich in 2017 but didn’t make an immediate impact, instead spending two spells on loan with Lincoln City.
Whilst at the LNER Stadium he won the Checkatrade Trophy as well as a League Two title the following season, returning to Portman Road to make 18 appearances this season.
It seems the player’s return is one pinprick of light for the supporters to focus on after a truly horrible run of form.
We’ll be using him as a target man within a month, with 5 CDMs in behind him
