Bradford City have signed Dylan Mottley-Henry from Championship outfit Barnsley on a permanent deal until the end of the season.
The winger is no stranger to Valley Parade having started his career in the Bantams academy. He made one senior appearance as a substitute in a 3-0 defeat by Preston in 2015.
He moved to Barnsley in the summer of 2016 and impressed enough in the Under-23s and during a loan spell in League Two with Tranmere Rovers to earn a new deal in January 2018.
However, he failed to kick on with the Tykes and never made a senior outing. He spent further time on loan Harrogate Town during the second half of last season but was unable to recapture the form he displayed at Birkenhead, making only four substitute appearances for the National League outfit.
His signing was not greeted with any great enthusiasm when Bradford fans reacted on social media. Its been an odd week for Bantams fans after the club loaned striker James Vaughan to Tranmere and sold the division’s top scorer Eoin Doyle to Swindon after they previously recalled him from his hugely successful loan spell in Wiltshire.
It is fair to say many Bradford fans are not happy with the club’s January business.
Here is a selection of responses to the Bantams announcing the signing on Twitter.

No way we’re passing that off as a new signing ??

Good luck to the lad. Stop moaning everyone and back the lad. Of course we need more but not this lads fault. I hope he smashes it

If he wasn’t good enough then how does he pass for being good enough now ?

I assume we are going to make a signing to replace Vaughan. So why announce the signing of a young lad first. It’s obviously going to get a negative response and impact players confidence.

Good luck to the lad and all that but the week just gets more & more random by the minute. What a weird signing… #bcafc

Well he was struggling at Harrogate a few months back so, you know, that's always a good sign
