Sunderland’s recent form has not been impressive at all.
They dismissed Jack Ross in hope of turning their season around but hadn’t been utterly woeful. Ross took them to two Wembley finals and was narrowly beaten in the play-off game against Charlton.
His main issue was drawing games, something that eventually came back to bite him. Following a 2-0 defeat against Lincoln City, only their second defeat in 14 matches. Ross had seen them beat Premier League Burnley and Sheffield United in the League Cup, winning eight in fourteen across all competitions. He was sacked.
Phil Parkinson has come in and seen a complete collapse. His Black Cats side have won just two in 12, one of those wins a thumping 5-0 victory against Tranmere. They’ve lost six fixtures under the former Bolton boss and have failed to score more than once (if at all) in all but the single game against Mickey Mellon’s side.
Popular lower league blog D3D4 have tweeted a statistic today that suggests Jack Ross saw his side create 48 chances in his final seven league matches in charge, whilst Phil Parkinson’s side have managed just 26 in the same period, eight of which came against Tranmere.
It’s not pretty reading at all and these fans can’t truly believe what they’re reading.
Genuinely surprised its that many….that must have been mostly against a very poor and depleted Tranmere side

Presumably around a quarter of them were in one game against Tranmere as well? 😂

Were 17 of those 26 #safc chances against Tranmere?

Hoofing the ball long at every opportunity to a 5 foot odd lone striker who can’t hit a barn door will be why. PP is an absolute numpty

We are woeful under Parkinson. We’ve seen some garbage over the years but this is the worst it’s ever been. Hopefully owners admit their mistake and sack him ASAP.

After more than fifty years watching Sunderland I consider myself a little bit of an expert when it comes to crap football but this shower are by far the worst side I can ever remember watching. The way this club is being run I have serious doubts about whether this club will be in existence in five years time. I hope that I am wrong
