Swindon Town are set to sign leading scorer Eoin Doyle permanently in January according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Doyle signed a season-long loan deal at the County Ground in the summer, but his blistering form has sparked rumours parent club Bradford will recall him in January.
Known as the ‘Ginger Pele,’ the thirty-one-year-old has bagged seventeen goals for the Robins so far this season. His winner against Mansfield last time out made him the leading scorer in the top four divisions in England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France – the leading five European football nations.
The Irishman is currently on a tremendous run of scoring in seven consecutive League Two outings for Swindon since he netted in their 1-1 draw against Plymouth Argyle on October 12.
Having contributed over half of Swindon’s thirty-two league goals so far this season, the worry for Swindon boss Richie Wellens is his outstanding campaign will see him move on in the window.
Bradford could try and recall him during the transfer window, putting the brakes on Swindon’s promotion push or other clubs could make a move for the red hot hitman.

However, Nixon, who is usually a reliable source of transfer gossip, yesterday tweeted in response to a fan’s question over Doyle’s future in which he claimed the Robins have a ‘good chance’ of making the deal permanent in January.
Although Nixon suggests the deal was yet to be finalised, his inference is talks are at an advanced stage.
Our View
Wow, if Wellens pulls this off Swindon have a great chance at promotion.
Doyle is red hot at the moment, and if he commits his future to Swindon, it will be a massive statement of intent.
In our experience, Nixon is very rarely wrong so Swindon fans should be excited at the news.
