Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Moore has moved to strengthen his attacking options by signing two forwards.
Rovers have struggled to find a replacement for last season’s top scorer John Marquis, who left in the summer in a big-money move to League One rivals Portsmouth, and Moore will be hoping his foray into the free-agent market reaps the rewards.
Rakish Bingham and Harrison Myring have both signed deals until January after impressing on trial at the club.
Former Wigan Athletic, Mansfield Town, Hamilton Academical and Cheltenham Town striker Bingham recently scored twice in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Barnsley.
The twenty-six-year-old ended last season at Cheltenham following a two and a half year spell in Scotland where he scored fifteen goals in ninety-seven appearances for the Accies.
Eighteen-year-old Myring was released by Premier League Leicester City in the summer after coming through their academy and will train with Rovers development squad to push for a first-team spot.
Fans soon took to social media to react to the double swoop, and most seemed underwhelmed by the additions. Some believe it shows a distinct lack of ambition from the club who came close to getting promotion through the playoffs last season.
Marquis remains a big miss, and judging by the reaction to the news on Twitter, most Rovers fans feel the latest signing will not solve the problem.
While not much is known about Myring, Rovers fans view on the news was perhaps not helped by several supporters of Bingham’s previous clubs hardly giving their former a player a glowing reference.
Here is a small selection of responses to the signings on Twitter.

I'm all for trusting DM but this one really is puzzling….an extremely underwhelming career so far and isn't in the "young with potential" bracket either…..I hope he proves us all wrong though ⚽️

He's a striker, got pace but needs the ball played through on the deck to run on to
Don't expect him to hold the ball up or win headers, that's not his game.
Good luck to him— George G (@Oldtimeaccie) November 2, 2019
Played for my team, Hamilton and was extremely frustrating. Showed flashes of real ability but they were rare. If your looking for a goalscorer he ain't your man!
