Everton keeping tabs on League One duo

Everton are thought to be monitoring the progress of Bolton Wanderers’ pair Ronan Darcy and Dennis Politic after their impressive starts to the season, as reported by Football Insider.

Bolton have endured a tough start to the season as they battle back from a 12-point deduction, but the form of the two teenagers has given them something to be positive about. 19-year-old Politic is of Romanian descent and operates as a midfielder. He was on the books of Manchester United as a young player, but switched to the Trotters in 2018 and had a loan spell with Salford City last season.

He’s scored twice in 11 matches this season for Bolton, who collectively have scored six goals.

Darcy has also already been amongst the goals for his club, he scored their opening goal of the season in a 5-2 EFL Cup defeat by Rochdale. The Trotters face Rochdale for a third time this season tomorrow in a game we feel they could get a result in. Darcy has only played one league match since the transfer window activity which saw Keith Hill overhaul the squad.

An Everton source allegedly told Football Insider the Toffees are currently scouting both players and intend to do so throughout the autumn months.

Our View

Bolton fans should be aware that if a bid comes in for either player, they’re likely to accept. Darcy is a surprise, he’s surely soon set for a loan spell away from the club as the new players restrict his first team chances. It’s possible he could make a January move on loan into League Two, especially if the influx of new faces continues.

As for Politic, he’s an exciting winger who has continued to grow since the arrival of Hill. He’s one we could certainly see making steps further up the leagues, but right not regular football at League One level is great for his development.
