Oxford United came away from the University of Bolton Stadium with a point last night after being held to a 0-0 draw by a Bolton side that had lost their previous four games, conceding twenty-one goals in the process.
While it may be true that Bolton have made improvements since the appointment of Kieth Hill and the signing of nine new players on Deadline Day, they still lost their previous fixture at Rotherham 6-1 and U’s fans must have been hopeful of a rare away win before kick-off.
OUFCHowever, while the result means Karl Robinson’s men have only lost one of their last six games across all competitions, just two league victories leave them in seventeenth place in the fledgeling League One table. Some fans are not happy with this or the team’s current direction and were quick to voice their displeasure on social media at the final whistle.
Indeed, Bolton could well have snatched their first win of the season but for a fine save by Eastwood from a powerful drive by Lowe at the death, and some Oxford fans did not hold back in their criticism of the lacklustre performance as you can see from the selection of responses to the result on Twitter below.
