Oldham Athletic face Scunthorpe United this evening in a crunch game at the bottom of League Two.
Both sides have been in League One in recent years, but they are currently locked in a battle at the foot of the table. They’re both desperately hunting a win and whoever does emerge from tonight’s game with three points will deal a hammer blow to the other.
Life at Boundary Park is uncomfortable at the moment, to say the least. Owner Abdallah Lemsagam is accused by some fans of running the club into the ground, whilst manager Laurent Banide has yet to convince fans he’s the right man to take them forward.
They’re facing a real fight for survival, both on and off the field, something that hasn’t escaped their supporters.
They’re making the trip along the M62 to Scunthorpe more in hope than in anticipation, with the threat of action against the owner hanging in the air. If they fall to defeat against Paul Hurst’s side, that will only get worse.
Not only that, but with Morecambe up at the weekend, it promises to be a huge few days in the club’s history. These fans on Twitter are not happy with the way things are going right now.
